I am so happy to have found out about XCHROM at Holy Cross! In a world where women still make 78 cents for every dollar a man makes, I find it crucial for women to come together in order help change this disturbing reality. It is especially important for women pursuing majors and jobs in the field of STEM, which is predominantly made up of men, to inspire younger girls to do so also! If men can do it, we can too!

As a freshman at Holy Cross, XCHROM has been a wonderful opportunity to connect with others who have a passion for science and to be a role model. I was a mentor in my community during high school and am so glad that I have the privilege of being one at Holy Cross. You can tell that the LiTTLE mentees love being in the program just as much as the
BiG mentors.

My favorite memories have to do with the moments when we can talk about more than just homework. My BiG and I have gotten so close and I'm genuinely so excited to talk to her like family, to tell her about my day, and hear about hers. I now have a better understanding of commitment and I have learned way more than what I initially came here for, which was homework help and guidance.

I joined Sisters in Science at Holy Cross to have someone to talk to and advise me in high school who I could also have fun with. My favorite part of SiS was having something to look forward to every week, like becoming friends with my BiG, her friends, and studying together every week. Now I have gained a friend and someone to look up to as well as to talk to about any worries.

My favorite part of SiS is that I was paired with a BiG SiS who really matches my personality and has the same interests. My favorite memory together was definitely taking a tour of my BiG's chemistry lab. I have gained a lot of advice and so much support from someone who's been where I am academically and mentally.
