As the students assigned to mentor our LiTTLEs one-on-one on a weekly basis, BiGs serve an incredibly important role in XCHROM. Duties include tutoring in a variety of subjects – including chemistry, biology, and physics -, advising LiTTLEs on college-related questions, and finding creative ways to expose LiTTLEs to STEM career opportunities and college life. All female Holy Cross students who are passionate about empowering young women in science are invited to apply to become a BiG using our online member application form. We welcome all majors, minors, concentrations, and class years, but ask that you display a commitment to community service and interest in the STEM fields, and also that you are available during one of the time slots each week when our LiTTLEs come to visit (this fall, 2017, Tuesdays or Thursdays, 2:30-4:30pm). However, if you are not available during either of these time frames right now, fill out our membership application anyways!
